Calendar for Podfic-friendly Challenges

pod_together is a annual challenge for writers and podficcers to collaborate on creating (pod)fics specifically to be recorded. Here's how the comm's profile describes it:

Welcome to pod_together (also mirrored on Livejournal, twitter and tumblr)! A challenge where writers and podficcers join together to create awesome projects - the writer writing something specifically to be podficced, and the podficcer recording it.

Why are we doing this?

Reason One: A lot of podfic meta talks about the connection between podfic acting and TV or movie acting. But there haven't been many stories written specifically for podfic before. This challenge will give us a chance to take that analogy a step further, and also dispel some of the sense that podfic is nothing but a format shift for stories intended to be read on paper.

Reason Two: We think it will be a fun and interesting challenge for writers to write something specifically meant to be performed. For podficcers, the interesting challenge will be figuring out how to adapt to this format and bring the story to life.

Saturday May 27th group sign-ups open.
Saturday June 3rd sign-ups close.
Sunday June 4th assignments go out to everybody from match maker sign-ups.
June 5th–9th icebreaker week.
Saturday June 24th check-in #1.
Saturday July 8th check-in #2.
Saturday July 15th completed writing due.
Saturday July 29th check-in #3.
Wednesday August 9th early podfic submission date.
Sunday August 13th all podfics due.
Thursday August 17th posting starts.
Saturday August 26th posting ends, Party Favors due.
Sunday August 27th Party Favors posted.

podfic_bingo is a challenge that runs throughout most of the year, designed to inspire podficcers to try new things. Here's how the moderators describe it:

When you sign up for Podfic Bingo, you'll be given a bingo card with a number of podficcing challenges on it. The point is to push you to try different things when podficcing. Maybe push you out of your comfort zone and to try different styles, production techniques, or new types of stories in a safe learning environment. If you've always wanted to try something different when podficcing, this community can be your excuse!

Sign ups open March 1, 2017 and are open through September 1, 2017.
Podfic Bingo Cards are due December 31, 2017.

hp_podfic_fest is an annual, Harry Potter specific challenge. Here's how the challenge is described on the comm's profile:

This is a fest to promote more Harry Potter podfics! All podficcers from experienced to brand new are welcomed. Podfics can range from drabbles to epic podfics of epicness. Gen, Het, Femmeslash, and Slash in all ratings are all welcomed.
